Anyone want to explain Wiis' online to me? I heard you have like an avatar called Mii. Elaborate?

From what I know, the Mii's only appear with online for some Wii channel thing. I really don't know, because I don't have internet fast enough to actually use it.
Other than that, the online is like that of the DS, crappy friend code system and all.
Then there's the Wii shop channel, which is just a way to waste money on old games. Yeah.

Both Wii Wi-Fi games have options for random searches. And Friend Codes aren't that bad.
